Members of the Department of Ophthalmology of National Medical University in the name of O.O. Bogomolets welcome you. The department is headed by the distinguished physician of Ukraine Vtovskaya Oksana Petrivna.

The Department of Ophthalmology was created in 1869, and originated by such famous surgeons as Pirogov and Karavaev.

And now the department continues its honored traditions and carries out considerable volume of work in major directions of university academics: preparatory-methodical, medico-consultative, scientific research, disciplinary work.

The members of the department are always involved in coordination with employees of clinics, which are the sites of preparatory, scientific and medical care, scientific and pharmaceutical facilities. Productive partnership is one of the priorities of the departments functions.

Successful implementation of leading methods of treatment, new discoveries and inventions, members of the department owe to their preparatory-scientific-practical sites. Eye clinic of Oleksandrovskiy Clinical Hospital of the city of Kyiv, eye clinic of the Regional Clinical Hospital, scientific-practical center - ophthalmologic clinic �Eksimer� � are all places of arms, where the constant and difficult struggle continues for a healthy vision of man.

Modern instruments, perfect technique give the possibility to significantly raise the level of research, make effective treatment of the most difficult eye diseases. At clinical sites future doctors undergo practical lessons in eye diseases.
